Lets Talk Hooded Eyes..
First of all what is a Hooded Eye?
A hooded eye occurs when the skin on the brow bone extends over the crease, partially or completely obscuring the eyelid. It can create a heavy-lidded appearance that can make the eyes appear smaller.
Some people may feel self-conscious about their hooded eyes but they can be quite stunning when accentuated with the right makeup techniques.
With a strategic application of eyeshadow and eyeliner, hooded eyes can be made to appear more elongated and lifted.
Look in the mirror and relax your eyes. If you can’t see alot of eyelid space, your eyes may be hooded.
Hooded eyes are no less lovely than wider eyes, they just require a few different makeup techniques
These gorgeous celebs all have hooded eyes. Your makeup techniques need to be slightly different to make the most of them and ensure they don’t look small
Taylor Swift is still rocking a strong eyeliner, even with her hooded eyes. Note how her wing comes out straight rather than too ‘up’?
Blake Lively’s eyeshadow is pulled up towards her brow bone to open the eye up. She is also making the most of her bottom lash line.
So what are my top tips for hooded eyes?
Make sure brows are brushed up and groomed to open up the space around the brow bone.
Use an eye base or concealer all across the lid to remove discolouration and shadowing
Practice applying eyeshadow with your eyes open and relaxed
Apply a light matt colour above the crease, lightly lifting it out towards the brow bone
Use a light shimmer or matt colour on your lower eye lid to push them forward
Tightline underneath your lashes to add definition without taking away lid space
Keep eyeliners very close to the lash line
Add definition to your lower lashline to make your eyes appear bigger.
Being hooded myself I can teach you loads about how to make this eye shape look STUNNING
